Bisexuality and Dominant Women

I started this blog by writing a little about dominant women and why I find them so attractive. Sexual confidence is one of the primary things in that, as part of the general confidence a strong woman will have in herself. But that got me thinking about something else I’ve noticed.

I’ve often found that many dominant women are bisexual. I don’t think that dominance requires bisexuality, but I’ve wondered about the reasons for this. (Here is an interesting article on female bisexuality with links to the study it discusses.)

Perhaps part of it is the natural attraction any dominant personality would have towards the soft, submissive female. Even those believing fully in female superiority have to admit that the female sex is more attractive than the male, possessing a more graceful form, that even when proving not to be gentle or deferential in personality, women are still initially assumed to have a greater capacity for these things than the male.

Could it be that the strong woman, in trumping the stereotypes of a male dominated society, seeks dominance over not only the opposite sex, but also her own. Over all those around her. And in being dominant over both sexes, she has a sexual attraction to them both, but especially towards the natural beauty of her own kind. If a woman believes in female superiority, then wouldn’t she see submissive females to be the superior form of slave? And wouldn’t she also be attracted to the more beautiful and perfect sex? And for that matter, would dominance be shown in it’s greatest for through dominating the inferior male sex that is expected to submit, or through dominating other women?

Female superiority is a general concept. Individual superiority would include one female being superior to other, less dominant women (Here is an essay by a dominatrix on this subject). Perhaps slave to another woman, but dominatrix to a man.

Also, could another reason for the large proportion of bisexuality in dominant women be the natural sexual confidence they have, confidence that leads to them being more open and adventurous in their sexual choices? Bisexuality, femdom BDSM, lesbian domination and alternative lifestyles and interests in general would all be choices she might take in being “more” than others. Strong personalities don’t let others limit them. Limitations are for followers. Dominant personalities make their own choices, and thus usually have much broader interests, unless they choose to limit themselves.

I think that’s why I’ve always liked bisexual girls – the sexual confidence, even if the given girl wasn’t a dominant. No, I’m not talking about the two-girl sex thing, it’s just that the more sexual a girl is, usually the better she’s going to be at it. Less hang-ups too. That doesn’t mean that she is going to be dominant – there are just as many submissive women who are bisexual, if not even more since by nature of what they are, the dominant personality is less in numbers than it’s opposite. It’s just that there seems to more often be sexual confidence in bisexual and lesbian women, and that alone is an excellent step in the right direction.

Lesbian and bisexual girls also seem to be more interesting to hang out with too, regardless of if anything sexual is in mind or not. Probably because the more sexual inhibitions you break down, the easier it is to be more uninhibited, open-minded and adventurous in general. More stimulating and active in all ways.

That’s one thing I’ll give the homosexual community, both gay and lesbian… they’re far more sexually daring on average (Here is an article with an interesting little bit on Lesbian Domination). That and I think the crap they get from society helps develop a kind of sexual confidence in many of them. A reaction like, “if you aren’t going to like what I do already, well then I might as well just do everything I want and the heck with you”. The gay and lesbian community have a very strong presence in the BDSM world, I’d say in part due to that.
